Gravel

Using a decorative gravel or chippings to form a driveway or path can enhance any property, and they can also help you to hear if you have any visitors, wanted or unwanted. When applying a gravel or aggregate it is advisable to prepare the ground beforehand, making sure there is a decent depth of hardcore that has been well rolled and compressed, and then a layer of geo textile membrane to help stabilise the ground.

It is advisable that you apply the gravel at a depth of 2″ for optimum performance. For footpath construction follow the above advice, and just use weed control membrane instead of geo textile membrane.

All our bulk bags contain between 970kg and 1000kg.

If you are looking at different suppliers products, please be aware that most suppliers bulk bags contain approx 850Kg and this can have an effect on the number of bags required. If you’ve worked out you need 10 tonnes, as an example, that would be 10 of our bulk bags required, however if there is only 850Kg in a bag you would require 12 bags to reach your 10 tonnes. So that would need factoring in, in order for it to be a competitive quote.
